Web-Schnipsel: Christians in Sport
In unserer heutigen hektischen Gesellschaft fassen wir gerne Dinge zusammen. “Zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlagen” - sagten sich auch einige britische Christen(?) und gründeten bereits in den 1970er Jahren “Christians in Sport”:
Christians in Sport is a missionary organisation with a vision to see Christians in every sports club, representing Christ and building the Church.
Currently in the UK, 45% of adults and 87% of young people participate regularly in sport, yet the Government has set an even more ambitious target - to introduce the equivalent of 100,000 new participants to sport every month until 2020. Meanwhile, recent research suggests that only around 8% of the population attend church in the UK. If the job of the Church is to “go and make disciples of all nations”, sport is a pretty strategic place to start!
Die Vision:
Our vision is to see Christians at every sports club representing Christ and building the church.
